In 2006 a minor accident happened on Alton Towers ride "the runaway mine train". This short video shows footage of the manager ,ride and what wen't wrong. Luckily no one was seriously hurt.

I was there when it happened. The park was full of school kids on an end of term trip which sucked because it meant all the other rides queues got longer!
