From what I know of Elton John's respect for John Lennon, I don't even think he'd WANT his live version to be as good as the original.

actually they were goin do it in the famous elton and john lennon concert at MSG but lennon said boring do alot something ike that and did i saw her standing there,but elton has done imagine in the 70's but no duet

Too bad elton did this song back when it came out in '71, oh boy...lennon sure would have some good competition. Or a duet would even be better...oh yeah now that would be cool...but will never happen..unless some hidden recording pops out! Rock on Elton and John in our hearts and minds!

i love this video. I can think of no one better than the legend Elton John to have played this tribute for his good friend John Lennon. Both of them are such class acts and such musical geniuses! I especially love it at 2:44 when Elton bends the lyrics to say, "you might say, i'm a screamer," and then bears a huge smile on his face.
