thats incorrect, researches by IUCN say, that about 4500-7500 snow leopards left. for sure you mean the Amurleopard wich is a different race (panthera pardus orientalis) as the snow leopard (Uncia uncia). There are less than 50 left in the wild and about 120 in zoos

the cougar belongs to the race puma concolor (a type of small cats) and the leopard to the race panthera (big cats) only the races panthera,Uncia uncia (snow leopard) and Neofelis nebolusa (clouded leopard) are considered to be big cats!

The last pisture is not a leopard, it´s a clouded leopard (neofelis nebolusa), wich is geneticaly not a leopard (panthera pardus)

i researched again, the size is not a criterion for beeing a big cat. It´s a difference in the hyoid, not in the laryngeal. You are right, all cats purr, but small cats can´t snarl. there are also a few big cats that cannot snarl, the clouded leopard and the snowleopard!

Leopard are very beautiful and great hunters. But a male lion will easily destroy a leopard. Just watch HD theater channel 'A Leopard Son' and see what a male lion does to a leopard.

not even close. the leopard's diet is the second most diverse AMONGST the cats. It hunts something like over 200 different species of animals. topping the charts at a whopping 1000 different species was none other than the domestic house cat. now if you want to compare different types of prey thats fine but the cat that hunts the largest prey is the tiger. they have been commonly known to kill asian gaurs, the largest wild cattle on the planet. when you can do that you don't need diversity.

leopards are not small cats, they are big cats. the difference between big and small cats is not only their height. big cats snarl, while small cats purr. thats why a Puma (or Cougar) has about the same body height as an leopard but is still a small cat, cause he purrs while the leopard snarls. It´s a difference in the laryngeal.

all large cats are cool as S**t in my book. but check out the jaguar that actually picks a fight with an anaconda that weighs 100 pounds more than the jag and the jag whoops the snakes tail. cats kick ass anacondas are weak in comparison :D snow leopards are cool as S**t too. very rare tho

Incorrect, a leopard cant kill a adult giraffe and when they kill they do it for survival.

Leopards can kill a male gorilla weigthing four times his own weight. Is a good hunter, more than tigers that have success 20% of the attempts.
