UPDATE: ArenaNet said they aren't intentionally flagging videos and don't mind ads on videos and fan sites. Definitely something to stay on top of though.
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION
It's true that this most likely will not affect me or many other popular YouTubers due to the fact that we are associated with larger networks who deal with these types of issues. The problem is that this is screwing over the little guy and channels that aren't associated with networks ROYALLY. These people will be extremely discouraged to post any Guild Wars 2 content at all, not just because they can't make money off it but also because they don't want a Content-ID claim on their account which makes it even HARDER to get a partnership. Most of the views on Guild Wars 2 content is going to be coming from the larger channels that are associated with networks anyway. What is the point in INTENTIONALLY screwing over the little guy in this situation. You're also screwing yourselves over on getting large YouTubers that aren't with networks to post videos about your game at all.
The whole thing is beyond retarded and doesn't really make sense. The ad-revenue you make off smaller YouTubers is going to be irrelvant and you're just going to hurt your game in the long run. YOU WANT THE CONTENT CREATORS ON YOUR SIDE especially when Blizzard freely allows anyone to make ad revenue off footage from their game as long as anyone can view it freely.
I love this game but this is just dumb...
