Tai Chi Health Ways host annual workshop with the top masters. See photos or videos of Chen Zhenglei, Li Deyin, Zhu Tiancai, Chen Xiaowang, Dan Lee, Su Zifang, Abraham Liu .... The martial aspect of Tai Chi is a hidden value of the ancient art. There are not enough references of Tai Chi's applications in self-defense today because it has been de-martialized from its original fighting purpose to make its way into the general population. Master Tsao shares with you his research and 30 years of teaching experience in the major applications for Push Hands and self-defense in Chen Old Frame Routine One. Most of them are from Chen Zhenglei and Zhu Tiancai's teachings. The principles are based on Tai Chi Classics: to redirect or borrow an opponent's force first, then strike his weak point.

I have experience TRY my action with Tai Chi Wu Style people, they really can fight, they don't use fist too much, but by using a lot of body power to make you lose balance and control your both hands to make you fall.

  • the major advantage ...

the major advantage shown for Tai Chi is that it's a defensive style so it will work against lets say muai thai or boxing but if used with lets say another defensive style, i'm not really sure if it can still hold up against... like aikido or wrestling where grapplings and holds are essential or krav maga for that matter~ though i would like to learn this, the movements are smooth and effective, also saves alot of energy since you use the energy of your opponent. Or so i've heard O_O

  • In the forms your ...

In the forms your learning to defend yourself, but the problem with tai chi for fighting is that it typically takes about ten years to really be able to use it in a fight. Best to learn some other external form of Gung-fu like Shaolin or such while praticing tai chi so that you can also learn how to fight much faster while still working on getting the tai chi forms down and getting to a higher level of chi and skill.

No I'm not kidding you. Do some research about taijiquan history, it has come from battlefield practice....And yes I have done many years of full contact fights, so I'm not imagining myself what is practical and what is not. I do have healthy respect for other martial arts; however, at the high level most of them meet at the same point, taijiquan is only one way to get there.

Are you kidding me? Applications in an instructional video? Like what? Hey I'm not hating on Tai Chi, I do it myself, but for ENERGY, not for combat. For combat there's much better stuff out there - and I have studied many martial arts.
