    Hello. He says "direction?" because he is in a state of meditation where he is questioned about any topic; he says "direction?" so the questioner will know he is finished answering the question, and to ask him the next one (or end the session). He needs direction to know the next time, place, event, or person to which his mind needs to focus or be sent. There is more info on this on youtube; you can search for 'Cottrell', there is a lecture where he explains how he retrieves the answers. Thanks
