The Spectacular Spider-man (2008)

well spectecular is well known article for spiderman.. it doesnt stop confusing..

Marvel recently stopped publishing the three other mainstream Spider books, leaving only The Amazing Spider-Man comic. That frees them up to do a comic tie in to the show if they want to without confusing the inexperienced.

You don't want watered down, but you'll watch a series where the main character can't punch anybody and the Lizard needs a ray beam to mutate and the word 'Sinister' is too scary so they change it to 'Insidious'...

I just watched the intro (only thing I've seen) and I got pretty pissed, said it looked terrible, but this isn't that bad. Cool web slinging moves. But I still don't like Spider man, I know he is in high school but he's too scrawny and small looking, I hope he bulks up soon and the voice (actor) changes, then I might like it.

If you want to talk mature, these are comic book superheros and saturday morning heroes at that. I mean they're not trying to appeal to people our age (even if we are interested). Plus as with music and movies and tv shows, the things that offend people are becoming less and less. TAS couldn't even mention kill and this one talks about ripping hearts out.

You can't compare two shows from two different eras. TAS is 90s and this is '08. If you want to criticize TAS at least do it in the context of which TAS was shown (mid 90's, other TAS's, etc.). Animation was pretty smooth, at least not poor. It went on for 5 seasons.

I'm sorry, were you talking to me? Because I love this show, and I think it's miles btter than the 90's TAS.

It's designed by one of the best guys in the business, I'm not sure where you're coming from on this. I'd like to see a point by point argument for how the 90s series (poorly animated, basic design, no real visual style, plots that seemed written by toy companies) even compares to this one, much less is more "mature", and no, nostalgia is not a reason.

What you don't like is the art design. Animation would be like the fighting, and how fluid everyone moves. I know the 90s series was censored, but there are people who think it's more mature than SSM.
Gwen Stacy will probably die in the Direct to DVD movies.

I was actually talking about the animation. That's one of the reasons i won't watch it. The story is superb. The way everyone looks, Especially Spider man kills it for me. The show may be a little mature but it sure looks kiddish when it comes to animation. Anyway the 90's Spider man was censored. Of course Spectacular Spider man is more mature then the 90's because of it's censorship. Now Im wondering. Will Gwen Stacy die in this show?

This show is so much more mature than the 90's show. I mean they were talking about impaling Spidey's heart in today's episode.

The forums is not good enough but thanks for the links. I'll just wait and see if Spectacular Spiderman can reach to Season 3. I'm still not going to be watching a watered down version of Spiderman though. Anyway enjoy your show.
