I got news for you too. Russians don't waste money on "finish and details", they waste money on solid designs that will fly and work many long years even if production tolerances aren't top notch.

got news for all of you in here. while the soviet/russian planes may be bigger, they are , by no means better. im in the aviation industry, and i have seen these planes up close, especially the condor. the fit-and-finish and the attention to details leave a lot to be desired. i for one, would never want to fly on one. bigger is not always better. same holds true now as it did during the cold war.
