meaning you start off loose with the orange and as you progress you tighten up with the yellow and white.

get mike lavalles videos. every time i get stuck i go back to it for reference. there is to much yellow you shouldnt cover that much red.dark to light loose to tight.

Lose the music if you can call it that.

u got to either sketch it in pencil frist and make the 3d look by using shades. Or learn to draw.

looks like you took a picture of a fire and told us you painted it... Why cant i do that!!!

Looks like flames to me..have to remember that this is a low resolution video too..doesn't do his work justice and I'm sure he spends more time on a real car, etc. than he would on a youtube tutorial.

Those flames dont look real at all, i've only been airbrushing for about 2 months and my true fire looks much better than that. You really need to add more layers so the fire will have more depth so it has more of a 3D look.
P.S. if you add a kind of a spark or a flare coming off the fire lightly outline it with candy cobalt blue, it gives the fire a nice glowing effect in the sunlight.

Thanks for the tutorial. I'm painting realistic flames on a friends guitar right now. I have found that working with lighter shades of paint and then spraying over them with the deeper, richer colors works great in this application.Thanks again for the tips!
