you always need both striking and grappeling...i love muay thai but i will absolutly learn jiu-jitsu if i wanna survive in a fight. watch any of the gracies old fights, i think the fact that a gracie won the first ufc championship ever is testimony to how effective it is as a martial art. you can make fun of it but i promise that when your choked out you will respect it.

If you talk S**t about Jiu Jitsu or the Gracie's then you are a dumb F**k ! I usually stick with my striking skills (muay thai) but would never doubt anyones jiu jitsu skills in a fight. Not because I'm scared of it just simply because I know it works. In MMA today Jiu Jitsu is a must know. So stop talking and start training/fighting if you want to prove something. As for the streets. Use a gun. Too many F****ts try to jump people these days. I suggest a five seven! 20 in da clip!
