What can I tell you? Yes, spirituality should be easy to follow, but unfortunately we are so complicated! For example, I was not brought up as a Christian, but I know Christ said "A new command I give you: Love one another". Every religion says basically the same, and it sounds simple enough, and yet we spend our lives fighting over every single thing. I think each person must find a way to approach the Divine in a personal, compassionate and joyful way. But thanks for making me reflect.

Shiva, at least in Shaivism, is the symbol of a state of consciousness. Worshipping Shiva is a skillful method to access the part of my mind that IS Shiva; that is, the part of my mind where unobstructed awareness resides. I agree with you: if one worships Shiva as an external deity, one may gain merits, but certainly not liberation. May all of us, and all sentient beings, attain the ultimate bliss and remain free of suffering and the causes of suffering.

amazing how this mountain is the source some of asia's biggest rivers. trully a spiritual place.

If Shiva lives on top of a mountain, he aint very god-like then is he? Isnt it about time that you started to worship the Creator instead of the creation?
