I remember watching this shot, and everyone in the neighborhood went nuts. The only shot that was more clutch was most certainly Robert Horry's 3 in game 5 of 2005 against Pistons.

I don't know which Spurs shot was crazier? Elliot's shot here, or Tim Duncan's 3-pointer vs. Phoenix in the '08 first round? Both were improbable shots that lifted the team to victory.

Old School here. 1999-2007 4 Spurs World Titles in that span. This Spurs team is so different in every way (Except for Duncan and Poppovich) from todays Spurs.

To this day I have no idea how in the hell Sean Elliot stayed in bounds much less got this shot off and MADE IT. WOW

Man. I feel very very VERY sorry for the Portland Trailblazers of the '90s and early this decade. First the Bulls and the Pistons handled them. Then this heart breaking sweep after they came so close to winning this game and game 1 in the Alamodome. Then the Lakers beat them in a game 7 in an unbelievable comeback in 2000 and swept them the next 2 years. I hope B. Roy and Greg Oden can will stop this cuz I really REALLY feel sorry for the Blazers of before!

The Spurs played in a football stadium(Alamodome) from 1993-2002. Playoff games averaged over 35,000 fans.

why is it so loud? is it just me or does that arena look bigger than usual for an NBA game?

If you remember the shot, he was literally ON HIS TOES when he made the shot. The place went into pandemonium!! By the way, this was their FIRST (and only) lead of the game!! I'm not a Spurs fan but I am a fan of the NBA on NBC and damn, what a finish!

my mom is from portland and i was born in san antonio, i remember running around the house when sean hit that and my mom just sat there and didnt say a thing, damn i was 15

Wow. Thank you so much for posting this. After being born a Spurs, and Sean Elliott fan, and then having to move from San Antonio in 98'. This is and will probably be my greatest Spurs memory ever. Just wish I could have been in the city to celebrate it.
