I like this video. My favorite song from it is Major Tom. It's hard to believe some of these artists were one hit wonders. Where were Rockwell & A-Ha?

Yeah, if you call 6 "a few counts." You're right, Katrina et al are British. I can't even remember whose point I was "counterpointing." I think somebody was saying that ALL the bands were British and they sucked or something, and I was pointing out that about half of the bands listed were in fact American. Yeah, I hate poor research too.

ok tre your right on a few accounts there were at least 5 americans bands listed katrina and the wave are from uk anyways in this countdown or what ever a few of those groups had more then one hit in the states here thats all i was saying micheal penn alone had 6 1 in the hot 100 and 5 on the modern rock list i just hate when people post stuff and dont do research but all in all thanks for correcting me

um, i believe this compilation is the perfect argument against that statement. the pop music of the 80's was shallow kitsch with no artistic merit. the real music was being played on college radio.

I think the Pelican West lp of Haircut One Hundred wasn't a onehitwonder. The lp has less 6-7 very good songs. So Peter Schilling has other big hits(Hitze der Nacht). There are exact onehit bands as Opus, Procol Harum, Chammps, Herman's Hermits...or Lene Marlin.
