This is a reasonably-accurate model of the tower in Malmö, Sweden by Calatrava. It's got the nine six-storey blocks and turns through 90 degrees along its length.

If you want to know how to build this, there's a tutorial in the upcoming issue 99 of 3DWorld magazine (written by me, hem, hem).

yes it would be of interest. all the tutorials on youtube are more of how to use tools as opposed to how to implement them in a more real world project. For instance I still don't understand how people get such great curves to make model cars. Or in your example how you got the whole thing to twise

    I wouldn't touch Blender with a bargepole...

Everything I do, I do with SketchUp. All my photoreal rendering is done by importing SU models into the amazing Cheetah3D. I costs $129 and the results are fab...but it's Mac-only (I see you're on a PC). I've sent you a message about the tutorial...

Yest, there is an interest. I talked to one of my office mates and they were wondering if you could do the interior. It would make a good light and shadow study. I was curious if you had tried blender as a modeling tool. It seems to have some nice mesh editing tools. I'm thinking about switching from Viz/Max to this program. Vuze had some great videos showing off what it can do.

I'm considering doing a tutorial on how to model the roof of the Pantheon on my website. It's actually a *lot* harder than it looks...would that be of any interest?

Thanks -- truth is, I don't have a method -- I just get on with it. The more you model a structure, the more you get to understand it, and that informs your ideas about it. It's a continuous feedback thing. That make any sense?

Congratulations on the article. Do you have other tutorials that are available? I'm wondering how you build models from photographs. The Coop Himmelblau and Eric Owen Moss projects are impressive. I don't know how you would do it without plans.
