and I thought I better use Israelis... because I m sure.. that many people would Understand it literally and take it personally and offending... for the Jews as a religion... and we all know that there is a difference between Jews and israelis....

But the point is: Palestinians are not even used to using the word Israelis... at all
they always say Jews....
exactly the same as The Israelis Calling Palestinians... The Arabs...even though they are only Palestinians...
But they are used to say... The arabs in Israel... they dont say Palestinians in Israel.. Right...
I think it is Just a matter of what we are used to saying

She actually is saying "yahud" - i.e. Jew - not Israeli. I think the translation would sound a lot less innocent and more hateful if it was translated "those Jews" instead of "the Israelis."

Of course, either way, its a terribly sad story.
