Tying 2 knots in a fishing net, (so you can see how its done)
Do you meen the net making shuttles? They are the tools that contain the spool of tread/line to make the net. They could also be described as net making needles. You only need one of those. I have used a second one as a net tensioning spacer, you could use a blank piece of material that is the same outer size. My shuttles are made from wood, but I have also got others made from Aluminium and Nylon .Hope this helps.
By DUN1066 [Affiliate User] 1216310853I guess you probably could do it by hand, I have never tried this method. I do think it would make it a lot more hard work as you would have to pull through all the thread/line that you are using and getting the knots tight would be very awkward. If you try this please let me know how you get on, I would find it most interesting. I still advise using the net shuttles.
By DUN1066 [Affiliate User] 1216310462Unfortunatly, I live in the UK. So I really can't help you their. You could have a go at crafting your own needles.
By DUN1066 [Affiliate User] 1216310190u should do a movie on the actual steps
nice movie

By cholote313 [Affiliate User] 1215461408what r the brown things and u should make a tutorial on how to make the net great vid tho

By BGordon81 [Affiliate User] 1210259820Hey,where can I buy fishing net needles in Chicago? I'm working on a creative project...
By medena86 [Affiliate User] 1208300313Thank you for sharing this!
By fiberdrunk [Affiliate User] 1205853802It did take me a little while to get the hang of it, but it does come in time.Once you have got the hang of tieing the knot pay paticular attention to getting the net loop size even and the knot in the right place, then as you continue you will find that your net will be of better quality and you will become faster with experience (DO NOT RUSH, SPEED WILL COME IN THE END).
By DUN1066 [Affiliate User] 1203316868it looks harder than i thought
By mimi0674 [Affiliate User] 1203166823I should have written
**Make sure that your knots are tight**
but I bet you all realised that anyway.
ok. thanks!
By VonMilash [Affiliate User] 1201537340ok. thanks!
By VonMilash [Affiliate User] 1201537306I dont see why it wouldnt work, a net to catch fish should be strong enought to catch a puck or a ball. ** Make sure that your know are tight. **
By DUN1066 [Affiliate User] 1199630428neat. Would this work for a hockey net? I'd like to make a heavy-duty mesh for my son's net that I made out of black iron pipe. THanks.
By VonMilash [Affiliate User] 1199059584Thank you so much for your great support about this material. You got A+++

By blackbassusa [Affiliate User] 1194138058Thank you so much for the clip on tying fishnet. I learned (many years ago) to tie fishnet in school, but over thhe years I forgot. Now I find all sorts of cool things I could make and fix if I could just remember. Your clip was all I needed to jog the old brain.
By crazykizmet [Affiliate User] 1187863752I have never actually used my nets, So far it has just for the craft of making them. I demonstrate Saxon(Dark age) fishing techniques to the public at shows. I would like to get into the practical trapping side of things and am considering applying for my crayfish licence. Hope you enjoyed it.
By DUN1066 [Affiliate User] 1172818818I make all kinds of nets, too. Working on one right now as a matter of fact. It's going to fit over a frame to make a fish/turtle trap.
