TOM well said! if one comes for experience as it comes their way, then it is a good experience/ ppl just need to know that train travel to the "cool areas" is NOT cheap & usually takes up most of a day to "get there" / a LOT of research before deciding on where to stay pays off ^^ Enjoy your time here!

YUNA many designers train in the USA; use resources near you. Learn the language; that includes KANJI! You can NOT get thru univ or this type of job w/out it. Save money & study the lang.^^ GL

Peeking Duck (cute name ) yea, but now JET has problems. If one has a 4 yr degree in ANYTHING you can "teach english" anywhere, pretty much but! yes indeed, rude awakening for those that think living in japan is tranquil & easy. Lived here for a decade & still getting eye openers.

All that said, one should consider the west side -Kyuushu- (near Sasebo is really great) & they "welcome" foreigners more as say the Kinki area (albeit Kyoto & Aichi folks are great) Indeed, GREEN/NATURE = North!
