The biggest problems are people like you. People who think they know what they are doing. There is a reaston for the BSOD like 23 is FAT Filesystem read or write error. This would mean A physical problem with the disk, or a IRP may be sorrupted. I understand that you are trying to help people.

He did but he got charge $150 to install the hard drive then $100 for the hard drive which he bought. He said he believe the guy because he said that his pc showed 2 hard drives and that it was full i tried explaining what that it was the partition but he did not believe me.

Take it back to the repair shop, they should fix it for free this time.

Hi fastfighter - if your friend took it a repair to get fixed, then it's highly possible that they opened it up to troubleshoot the problem. If he was having hard drives issues with the 250gb then it was probably replaced with 320gb. Was there a reason he had to have XP reinstalled?

Also the computer showed signs of that it had been opened.

I BetaFlux I have a question my friend went to a repair shop to install xp on his pc his system had 250gb hard drive went they gave it back the os show that he had 320gb and after a while the hard drive died on him so do you think there is something fishy about it.

Get a Linux.

Well that scan E:? or will it Scan C:
never tryed that befor since i only have C: as Main.

Yes you can do that but this is for pc's that will not start to get to that point.

Can't You type "chkdsk /F" in cmd?
Or is that something else..?

I think this happened to me i had to do a recovery :S :( and now the internet driver is lost and no internet till its fixed

I lost everything on my hard drive when I reloaded the the disks HP sent me. I could not believe it didn't evan include some of the programs that came with my computer- it was barely 1 1/2 years old. At least I had lots of important things on my external drive
that were all saved. Should have made backup CD'S and I would not have had this problem. Everyone should make recovery disks when they get their PC. That will never happen to me again. Hard lesson to learn.
