Actually the 2 harmonica's are D and A ... Since this song is in A... A works for straight, and D works for cross... The tip with Cross harp is to count 3 from the key... so if you are in (guitar) G .. (a,b,C is the harmonica) and if you are in (guitar) A .. (b,c,D is the harmonica)... Happy Harping!
please check out the harp group i have for any other more specific harp questions... cheers!

What about the Lee Oscar? I just bought an A Major Lee Oscar. It has a better registration. Speaking of Major and Minor harps, What is the difference?
By CHORYCHUL [Affiliate User] 1212603715 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removesounds like you know whats up then... its possible it is just a toy, and not really an instrument... a good harp should run around 20-30 bucks.. not saying you cant get one for cheaper, but its rare
By pazzmanmusic [Affiliate User] 1212471063 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYes, actually what I usually do when I hear a song, I play it first on the keyboard, then I find the scale that matches it better, for example I would use my G harmonica for playing Roadhouse Blues , however, I notice that my Hot Metal sounds an octave higher than the one I hear on the record, and this makes it sound like a toy, not like a blues harp.
By CHORYCHUL [Affiliate User] 1212442375 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe difference between G and C is they are different Keys, not a different octave... they come in all the keys.. a b c d e f g, and repeat.. the distance from an a to the next a is an octive, anything in between is just a different key... there are also other harmonicas.. if you have any other questions please post them in the harp group...
cheers,
Hey pazzmanmusic. I own Hohner Hot Metals, and I've noticed on different songs that mine sound one octave higher. I've tried some parts that I heard in The Doors' Roadhouse Blues, using my G Hot Metal, and I se the registry on the record sounds lower. Is this because it is a very different Harmonica, or is it a mouth effect, or what is it? Do they come, besides different scales, in higher or lower octaves?
By CHORYCHUL [Affiliate User] 1212425309 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removelol that was too funny and it was hohners loss....
By DistantSoul13 [Affiliate User] 1209307397 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveVery risky.. you might get shot in the near future... or at the very least, a wicked papercut... but stay away from the congas... playing both at the same time causes spontaneous combustion. guaranteed.
By pazzmanmusic [Affiliate User] 1196701120 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewell i can't say i played congas or full drums while playing harp, i have played the bass drum and hi hat with my feet while i play Tom Pettys "Mary Janes Last Dance" on guitar and harp at the same time. it took a lot of practice but i was envtualy able to like all three together. i was really happy the day i got tha down, i've been meaning to post a video of.
By phreak89 [Affiliate User] 1196635451 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removehey Machino.. The myspace I have linked is old from some of my music stuff.. if you want a link to the how to videos go to my youtube page, and then groups, and then check out the harmonica enthusiast group i made...
cheers
Very cool, thanks for the lessons pal.
Do you have a website where you post other harmonica riffs? (ie. myspace) The harmonica tabs really help. Harp on.
The double harmonica holder is way cool. Where can I get one? Also, do you recommend any particular harp to someone starting out? What do you play. I saw another vid of yours where you play through your nose at the same time. Crazy! Your vids could benefit from better lighting but they are easily the most entertaining and informative on youtube, Thanks

hey awesome bloody beginner lessons!! Any chance of getting some more blues tabs with demos?
By tradward [Affiliate User] 1191044517 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHahahah... no. Thanks for posting that question, I actually get that a lot... So here is the scoop... that is impossible. Many have tried, but all have failed. I personally knew 4 people who spontaneously combusted on first contact with the drum.
Thanks for posting, and Happy Harping, BPeters...
I have more of a question than a comment...Is it possible to play the harmonica and the congas at the same time?
