DASH 8 Cockpit Take off and Landing Ecuador Andes

the dash-8 was the first prop plane I flew in, I was quite surprised how those things haul ass down the runway I thought they would be much slower than a jet of the same size.

Why didn't the Dash 8 achieve greater popularity? Maybe the 4 engines were a little too thirsty, eh?

No big deal I've been there with a 727. What's wrong flying with both hands? He's the F/O, the Captain has the power. This is no 172, you fly bigger a/c with both hands.

When you take off in a smaller plane you usually put one hand on the yoke to maintain directional control and one hand on the throttle to maintain engine control

That's how we fly the Dash...it's not like a cessna; it's typical to fly bigger a/c like this w/ two hands during t/o & landing

Afirtmative Sir, the reason is a politic procedure of the company during the take off, the Pilot in Command its the unique person for decition aborted the take off, but in the approach and landing procedure its a normal configuartion of the pilot landing techunique. 73 Captain.
