Amy-Portait of An Anorexic & Bulimic

I know very well what it is like, having flat shared with several anorexics in the past and had to supervise 'mealtimes' in a psychiatric hospital whilst they pushed a pea around their plate for two hours,or keep them from drinking gallons of water before being weighed.I've listened to case conferences about them, I've resuscitated them in casualty only to watch them scream and try to rip their dextrose infusions out afterwards, believe me I've seen plenty,they're a waste of time and resources.

It's almost a disease of the privilaged and bored!

I disagree, all of the anorexics I have known had father figures,it tends to affect girls with overbearing, over-controlling parents with whom they have a rather submissive relationship and feel that their input is dismissed or ignored, they don't have the confidence to stand up for themselves and attempt to get noticed through self harm or starvation as a means of communicating their unhappiness. It is an exasperating condition to treat because of the addictive nature of this illness.

LMFAO, I told my dad about this chick- er, stick- and he started CRACKING UP when I mentioned that she was afraid that the "soap would leech into [her] skin." How pathetic is that? Hell girls like Nicole Richie, Paris and Nicky Hilton can't even enjoy a decent lobster dinner. I couldn't live that life.

seems to me that we're making new age type problems for ourselves...obesity and anorexia...strange S**t since
in the OLD days..the rich were fat but not obese and were "beautiful" by people because the poor were skinny...no in-between stuff in there...
strange how things have changed...the magazines..which say that ur not skinny enough

Dammit, that comment wasn't reflected to the right person but my point was...I personally have seen both societies and coming from someone living with an ED it became clear to me how disorders like that can devolop in the minds of people who live in countries that are culturally much different than places like Pakistan.

You are an ignorant ass hole and you obviously have no idea what it's like to live with an eating disorder. You clearly do not understand that people in different societies will react differently to situations, just because diseases like anorexia or bulimia dont generally exist in many other countries doesn't mean that it's not a terrible thing to have to suffer through. My dad was born and raised in Pakistan, he could barely afford food when he was younger. Dispite it all, I have an ED.

Wow I hope my anorexia/bulimia never gets that bad. But I do think that there are calories in toothpaste and soap, and even when people of are cooking the smell the particles in the food vaporize but its still calories. It sounds really crazy and maybe it is maybe its not idk. But this ed thing is an offal thing to start and I need to recover 7 years of my life is enough time of my life gone to an eating disorder

It is an almost obscene disease which you simply wouldn't see in poverty stricken, war torn areas of the globe where people have real problems to deal with in order just to survive. The disease of unassertive, self obsessed, boring, insecure, privileged kids with overbearing, controlling, obsessive parents, and their inability to communicate with eachother.I honestly couldn't care less if she kills herself, she doesn't deserve the gift of life, I wonder what Anne Frank would make of her!

she has a real and serious disease. I don't think calling her disgusting is called for...
