That fish has to be 40-50 lbs! Gar are wicked awesome fighters, too!! I usually use a bluegill/sunfish/brim for bait. Good luck!! (And please release!)

gar i catch only get to about 3 lbs what was that gar like 20-30+?

I commend you on releasing these fish. The bowhunters that just whack and stack these big apex predators with no intention of eating them really get me annoyed. Keep up the good work.

i nice fish i love catching gars there a good strong lil fish lol...the only part is grabbing it once u real it in thats what gets me kind of scared
