Well common sense really. Of course we cannot say for sure that anything is anything, but most people would agree that there is an extremely low probability for the electron to have consciousness.

How do we know it doesn't have one?

Too bad that they talk of the electron as if it has a conscience. Peeking at the subatomic level can only be done with matter that weighs as much as the object peeked upon. Like throwing tennis balls at an incoming tennis ball to measure its speed. "Oh, it changed its behavior, straaange..."

the electron moves through the screen like a wiffle ball. the method of viewing the movement i guarantee they tried an actual camera physically close to the opening
