Most guinea pigs will stress over the first couple of washes. But here are some helpful hints to making your guinea pigs bath time more enjoyable,
1. Use warm water, because guinea pigs are warm blooded they will be nice and relaxed in warm water. Cold water might make them sick or scared. How would you like a cold shower?

2. Keep both hands on the guinea pig at one time otherwise they might make a break for it. As I found out while making this movie.

3. SHALLOW WATER. I cannot stress this enough, Guinea pigs DO NOT LIKE TO SWIM. They like nice shallow water that they can stand up in. I hate people who make their gunea pigs swim.

4. Place a towl at the bottom of the tub so they can have some grip.

5. Only use baby shampoo bacuse other shampoos will strip the fur of natural oils and will iritate their skin and eyes leading to serious problems.

6. NEVER PUT THEIR FACES UNDER. This will get them scared and the water will get trapped in their ears. But you can whipe their faces with a warm, damp cloth afterwards.
