Hehe, me too, though as long as it wouldn't ruin the illusion, like when you meet celebrities, makes you feel funny after (though I've only met one). My other big dream is that in haven, if there is one, we could all write music as great as this! Because right now I soooo wish, even like many great composers, that I could write music as pure as Mozart's!

actually it'll tuned in keeping with equal temperament, if it's an authentic performance. just intonation is the more modern tuning system, it just wasn't possible to accurately pitch exact ratios between particular intervals without modern technology, except the octave, which is where equal temperament is based.
if it sounds strange then the instruments or the performers are probably just not in tune.

sounds like Just Intonation which I'm pretty sure would be the tuning he composed for if this is "on period instruments." I'm basing this on listening to the thirds when the violins are isolated - they have that characteristic locked-in sound of "just" tuning, where a major 3rd for example is a 5:4 ratio whereas today it's 14 cents off

The instruments are strangely tuned aren't they?
Other than that, great performance and great piece.

=) I'm using this as part of my GCSE art coursework piece, at the moment. It's a sunflower (like from the painting Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Dorothea Tanning) and this is gonna be playing from inside it. Hopefully it actually works =S x
