Captain America is the title of a low budget film based on the popular Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. While the film takes several liberties with the comic's storyline, it features Steve Rogers becoming Captain America during World War II to battle the Red Skull, being frozen in ice, and subsequently being revived to save the President of the United States. The film received a PG-13 rating

    This wasn't made for TV, but that's where it ended up. It did fare better than the original Fantastic Four movie, though, which didn't see the light of TV (or the darkness of a movie theatre) at all.

    This movie was to be released in theatres back in 1990, but the studio decided against it. The only way to get the movie was to buy a bootleg. I think it might have been 5yrs later that the movie was released on DVD. I don't know if it ever aired on one of the movie channels, but it has never aired on network TV, at least not in the USA.
