"Sound of da Police" is the second and final single from rapper KRS-One's debut album, Return of the Boom Bap. The lyrics referred to the police in Bronx, New York with lines like "Are you really for peace and equality?" and the chorus "Woop-Woop, that's the sound of da police" making fun of them. The song is produced by Showbiz from DITC. It was a CD single featuring b-side, Hip hop vs. Rap. The b-side "Hip Hop vs Rap" contains samples of "Sucker MC's" by Run DMC, "Insane in the Brain" by Cypress Hill," "The Bridge Is Over" Boogie Down Productions, and "I Wonder If I Can Take You Home" by Lisa Lisa.
