The men acting as terrorists were recruited by the CIA as terrorists. bin Laden, who is dead, was recruited by the CIA in the 1980s (reagan years) as a freedom fighter in Afghanistan.

as far as I'm concerned the mission hasn't changed... wmd's in the hands of terror loving society is always cause for caution and action... especially after 9/11. We are not fighting a country... we are fighting terrorists that reside in countries... and if those countries can not root them out themselves which Iraq clearly can not we have every right to step in and do it... war was declared on the US on 9/11/2001 or have you forgotten?

politicsaside--Why would it be hard to detect WMD? If there were WMD why has the focus of the original mission changed? If Iraq had nothing to do with 911, why are we there? I'm open to all theories that President Bush cheated or didn't earn his high education, but that is a very reckless and serious charge to take against a person. Not embarrassed by our lackluster Lib media so much as getting something done about it, as in taking action to thwart their attempt to once again monopolize the air wave as they did for decades w/CBS, NBC & ABC (later CNN).
