Actually, let me rephrase that. After Sargon's empire fell, Sumerian city states regained power and Ur had a golden age. They survived another 100 years before falling by a mountain people who they occasionally competed with in 2000 B.C., approximately. Afterwards, Sumerian city states got occupied by Martu people, who were semitic (some of these were hebrew, and Abraham was one of these) and eventually they adopted Sumrn culture before the land was conqured by Hammurabi.

In the video it said that the assyrians conquered the babylonians, I was under the impression that the babylonians were conquered by Cyrus and the Persians?

Nice, but more info should have been told about the Akkadian empire ruled by Sargon. Sargon was also semitic (other than Hammurabi) and took over the Sumerian city-states one by one, creating the world's first empire. Not long afterwards, his empire was conquered by Hammurabi.
