Dinesh D'Souza, Christian and best-selling author, debates Dan Barker
I dont understand this comment. How underlining the very fact that the Christians are the wealthiest population segment in the world when looking at wealth distribution through religious membership leads to this kind of answers? It is a mystery.
D'Souza wants to sell stuff and as he is smart, he picked the wealthiest segment of the population, this way, he is getting rich himself. Just a commercial move.
WW2?

I guess that's why Christians give away 10% of their income while no other religions do such a thing.
And this is the first book D'Souza has written on religion. His other worls have become best-sellers and those works are secular.
Stalin= 50 million dead

I simply stated that the christian population segment is the wealthiest. I made no relation.
This guy elected the best target for his show.
As I said, he could have chosen any other god, without much change on the core of his discourse but for sure, this would have rendered him less wealthy.
Pure marketing move: he is selling stuff to reinforce people in their beliefs and he is selling it to the wealthiest population segment. A smart move.
Euh yes... Why exclude other people from the count? How much during WWI alone? 18 millions people?
By TheCZMan [Affiliate User] 1216984388 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI dont think I've ever heard the claim that becoming Christian makes you more wealthy. If this is true, and making money and creating wealth is a good thing, (which we can probably agree on) then this is fantastic and more people shoudl become Christians.
They probably represent the most wealthy b/c there are more Christians worldwide than any other religion. If both Christians and Muslims made the same amount of money but there were more Christians, they would obviously have more money.
Hahaha. Wanna bet? Religious rule has brought maybe 10-20 million deaths tops.
Hitler alone was 6 million and Stalin was over 50 million. This isn't evem counting Mao and Pol-Pot
are known by humans. D'Souza as a Christian would have then to establish that the Christian god exist (and not another hypothetical god which is by the way a heretical thought in Christianity) and the atheist guy would debate on the non existence of the Christian God based on what is known of the world and the Christian God.
Full stop. Of course, this scheme would be much less rewarding for these two professional "debaters"
population segment to feed them with what they want to be fed with. Thus no surprise he is doing a lot of money out of it.
The atheist certainly does less money as his audience is poorer. Notwithstanding, he is on the same boat as D'Souza.
These guys are not interested in debating (to establish truth), they are interesting in maintaining controversy in order to cash in as much as they can.
Instead of discoursing over the existence of a god, they could as well debate on the gods as they
Christians constitute the wealthiest world population segment. Well known fact. If you have data conflicting with this, provide some. Or even better, provide another world population segment (categorized through religion) that is told to be the wealthiest.
Well, these two people are professional "debaters". Debates like these ones are part of the trade and participate in bettering their standard of living by giving them publicity.
Dinesh is smart, he chose the wealthiest religious world
You could pile up all these guys, you will never manage to reach the levels of religious people.
By TheCZMan [Affiliate User] 1216971499 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveA kind of patronising intelligence? Hard to believe that is the case if popular atheists have praised his work and debating ability.
Where do you get this idea that Christians are the richest people on Earth?
Besides, are you talking about Christians or Evangelical Christians. I would think the latter since they are what seems to attract the most attention from atheist attack.
Dinesh is not evangelical by the way, he is Catholic
Stalin's Russia.
Mao's China
Mussolini's Italy
Nazi Regime in Germany
Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge
Castro in Cuba
Kim Jong-Il in N. Korea
and finally Ceausescu's Romania
god with the same talent would simply leave him broke. Because while there might be a demand, the demand comes from a much poorer segment of population.
So yes, this guy is smart, he serves the words his audience expects to be served and he has chosen a wealthy audience to serve. No surprise he has become rich.
"It's so funny how people here think that Dinesh is so stupid and doesn't make sense."
This guy is obviously smart. He knows how to feed an audience with the words they are expected. He knows that many people are only ready to listen to him when he speaks the way it requires to reinforce their preconceived opinions. No wonder he is rich, he panders to the richest population segment in the world:Christians which can pay him well for his speeches, books... Him doing the same with an african
For making this (even if it would only make sense when either religion/atheism is a central point to the war) you must provide a list of countries that you feel as being atheistic regimes.
By TheCZMan [Affiliate User] 1216947394 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAtheism in the modern sense was largely unheard of in Biblical times so there is really nothing to compare. Theocracy, which is what you are referring to here, was also largely unheard of.
I am speaking more of the things atheists point to that make the case for secular society. They point to crusades, spanish inqusition, and witch trials as the smoking gun of America's storied past of theocratic regimes.
Also, if you are atheist the flood never happened anyway, so the question is pointles
mbelma6329-"Compare the death tolls of religion with the death tolls of atheist regimes. When you find out, tell me which you think has been more damaging to the world and in what generation."
Do we get to count all the deaths in the bible too? not to mention the world wide flood..
Dinesh is a total hypocrite. HE says that atheists are crazy for saying that 95% of the earth is delusional. Well WHAT do Protestsants say about MOST of those people... THEY'RE DELUSIONAL! What do protestants say about the religions of China, India, Pakistan, Italy, Egypt, Sri-Lanka, Turkey? Isn't it hypocritical to villify your opponent with an attitude YOU, YOURSELF HAVE?

By Orlan54 [Affiliate User] 1216246015 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe "classic" big bang theory doesnt say anything about the beginning of energy and or matter. it "only" describes space time expansion (from a singularity). mister dsouza got this one wrong since he relates his arguments to the "classic" (i assume here) bb theory. from relativity theory we know that matter/energy can exist without time. the question of causality is a tricky one here.
By pikechris1 [Affiliate User] 1215984263 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove"Everyone who is a theist knows what its like to be an atheist in regard to other religions."
Great way to shamelessly steal a Dawkins line D'Souze you F**king liar, just come out and admit you are a deceitful atheist just trying to make a cheap buck like Haggard and Swaggart and Falwell and the rest of them.
What is your point? People have always used religion, and secular ideologies to oppress and impose their will on the weak. It is the PEOPLE perverting these religions, and idealogies. Communism was suppose to support the brotherhood and economic distribution to all men, but what a failure that was. We take our democratic form of government in this country, and try to impose it on the rest of the world. Does that mean that the democratic ideals were bad? No. Your comments are without merit.
