well it's obvious that all dance styles don't exactly come out from their own asses and need their own sources for repertoire. as for this being a complete copy well S**ks for you. try and stop what's already done if you can. but i don't see africans dancing to samba or carnival music on this either - this supposed "copied" dance style, as you say. and let me see you reply back.

the movement is not just either from the knees or hips or stomach...The movement,the impulse is givem by the feet and knees using bounce action,but that impulse is contained in the stomach,so that the upper side of the body(chest,head) doesn't go up and down...but still the impulse must go somewhere,and that's why if you keep upper side still and contain bounce energy in the stomach,clean hip action will apear :D
