A skinny girl in a bikini tries firing a .50 Desert Eagle and gets a pretty good kick back. Maybe if she weighed more than 75 pounds then this might not have happened.

yea... it kinda S**ks how the XM8 got cancelled, but that was over 2 years ago. the HK 416 uses the good parts of the G36 series and xm8 series and put it all in a m4-style body. too bad how it isnt standard for the U.S. only Delta Force, Seal Team 6, and the U.S. Asymmetric Warfare Group use it.

  • G36 is practically ...

G36 is practically one and the same with the M8. They are slow to do any thing because HK is German, even though all of our guns are manufactured in the U.S. It is all about where the corporate money is going. That is why congress suspended the program. Congress has no job fighting wars though.

Impossible. As a ring expands, both its internal and external diameter increase. The bore tollerance goes down. The issue with heat build up in the barrel is over tempering and softening of the steel. - JDF M.S. Materials Engineering

  • If anything, the ...

If anything, the barrel will expand from the heat, not contract and make it "too tight for the bullet to exit." The problem with heat generated in a barrel from repeated firing is galling, that is the bullet jacket separating from the bullet and essentially welding itself to the barrel lining.

  • But what about the ...

But what about the barrel? They didnt mention how much heat can the barrel take. For example MG-3 machine gun, you can fire 150 rounds non-stop and then you have to change the barrel. Because otherwise the barrel would become too tight for the bullet to exit.

You all need to face it, HK makes the best weapons. USP/MK.23 pistols, MP5/MP7A1/UMP SMG's, PSG-1 Sniper rifle, and their carbines kick ass too so does the G36. I roll with H&K for just about everything. All the best stuff comes from germany/japan/italy. Axis powers for life.

  • I see where you, ...

I see where you, like so many other people, are coming from with the many problems of the M16, but this is an entirely new weapon and not governmentally contracted. It has almost nothing to do with the M4 and M16 other than aesthetic. The problems with the M16 have to do with bureacracy and frugal defense contracting, this is a different weapon and the private sector, and the possibilities offered by it are amazing possibly the end of the tradgedies you speak of.
