Jim Morrison version rocks harder, the song is written by a very talanted song writer no doubt, im from Ireland and i support my own, BUT Jim Morrisons version is impuded with more sexual dynamisisim and energy then Vans flat momo tone, pub singers voice. Even the musical content is submissive to the monster of energy that spews forth from the Demon DOORS...Listen to both versions and be truthful, which is honestly more powerful version, The Doors or Vans???

There's no need to compare Van Morrison with Jim Morrison. Both are brilliant. However, I know "Gloria" and "Beside You" (Astral Weeks version for sound, either for lyrics) are two of the best Songs ever. Nonetheless, "Light my Fire", when escaping a city on a Friday Night freeway in a powerful convertible at high-spurred speed takes me to a fantasy place. Don't mind Roisin Murphy either, or Loreena Mckennet. There's something about those Celts, Flatley included, can't beat his dance. Nuff said?
