This is a battle between the TRD hachi roku of Tsuchiya and a suzuki swift from the junior rally team.
Notes: ae86 ( 170 ps, 20 valve engine, 970 kg.)
Swift ( 218 ps, 1600 cc., 1030 kg.)
Torque: 19 kgm / 186 Nm on the swift (i think pretty much the same in both engines.)

i'm pretty sure you won't have that problem with a triple plate carbon clutch. only problem is, they work best when warmed up. so i guess at first you will have to peel out lol.

  • I looked into ...

I looked into fitting a triple plate clutch to my s14a, but as I want it to remain usable on the road its not practical. You dont have the same interface, so the clutch is either open or closed, so you end up wheelspinning everywhere. Looks cool, but the police dont like it much :)

They will be running with triple plate clutches for motorsport use. Difficult to drive'normally' but perfect for racing.

How do they not roast their clutches. Sticking them in half way throught the whole run.

  • I don't know about ...

I don't know about that...Ueo also drifts in an 86, and I drive an 86 myself, and I know they aren't powerful cars (they're almost downright weak). I just think that he has better control, and therefor goes a little more crazy with it. I'm not denying Tsuchiya in the slightest. I just personally like Ueo better and think he is a better drifter.

  • nah... Tsuchiya is ...

nah... Tsuchiya is quite possibly one of the best all around drivers of all time... he is really good. Drifting doesnt look good typically in an ae86 because they dont have that mad tq to spin those wheels till they smoke like you would expect for a "good" drift. so many people i know subconciously judge a drift by the smoke. the smoke hides a lot of driver corrections.

  • In all honesty I ...

In all honesty I think that Tsuchiya is a great driver, but I think that Katsuhiro Ueo is better at drifting than Tsuchiya.
