I was in the fifth grade, home from school sick and playing on the computer. My mom's boyfriend was watching TV and he kept trying to call me in but he had a thick Spanish accent and I didn't understand what he meant; I didn't go in until almost hour later to see the TV... but I didn't leave.

I was a senior in high school and even at that level they didn't want us watching it. Which is really pathetic IMO. They always complain that kids don't have an interest in history or major events and this was an event that would shape the nation from that point forward in the vein of a Pearl Harbor. But they tried to shut it out for some reason.

I was in fifth grade at the time, and we never once turned on the TV. In fact, our teachers didn't even act like anything was wrong...it was just a normal school day for us. Of course, it was all we could talk about at recess. Looking back on it, I wish we had watched TV or that our teachers would have at least mentioned it.
