I'd rather have a wallpaper, I tried this program out and it DOES cover the icons in Vista, although the gadgets weren't affected.

I would rather have this on my Linux desktop but it is very cool! I agree that the program could use some tweaks and updating, although you can download the source code and modify it yourself if you know C++!!
