Review of my 511 Karambit. 511 teamed up with Steve Tarani to design this knife. If you don't know who Steve is you can read a lot about him here:
http://www.karambit.com/steve_tarani.htm
He's someone who has spent a lot of time with the karambit and putting his name on it definitely means something. Nice little knife, a bit big for my hands I think, but overall a great tool beyond just it's self defense aspects.
Gear - Would make a nice backup knife or main knife for concealed carry, but like anything takes proper training to learn how to use correctly.
Gadget - Not a toy, definitely a strictly business knife. It's fun in the "gadget" sense to learn how to spin karambits, but otherwise doesn't contribute much to this category.
Getaway - I really do like the tiger's claw design that karambit offers and makes it useful for a variety of tool based tasks. Could be useful in a survival situation for lots of tool based tasks.
