I was talking to a freind of mine and telling him how much cooler the cartoons were when I was a kid compared to the cartoons from the 90's and today. So that and retrojunk.com inspired me to make this video. The criteria for my top 10 is not the quality of the shows but the quality of the opening intro and Theme song. If it was a top cartoons of the 80's I would have included Robotech, Silverhawks, GI joe you know stuff like that.

  • Those were the days.

That is when cartoons were cool. You can see the Anime inspiration. Some were a bit ridiculous like Wheeled Warriors, but it sold the toys. The quality of animation back in those days was so much better. I'd like to see something from Adult Swim keep up with that quality.

  • I have no idea what ...

I have no idea what country these were shown in?! Perhaps America? I was 7-18 in the 80's so prime cartoon watching age. I knew ONE of these!

Then again my faves were almost all European. Dangermouse (for content) and for theme songs Ullyses 31, Around the World in 80 Days, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Dogtanion & the Three Muskehounds. And Dungeons & Dragons for the weird pointlessness - they never got any closer to home!

I'll give you Defenders of the Earth though :)
