We just heard about this last night, when it was mentioned on EPSN2 during coverage of the college softball world series. I showed it to my daughter, who is 12 and playing LL softball, to show her what true sportsmanship looks like. Thanks for posting this video. I think all players should watch this!

I was watching this on espn a couple days ago and i thought it was amazing.I almost cried.......i felt bad for the chick who hit the homer but it was pretty awesome with the other teams sportsmanship.

i play softball and have never seen any one with that much good sportsmanship .But i play with poor sports though.AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME

Seeing that it was her last year of eligibility and that she couldn't play out the rest of the season, yes, it was the end of her career.

Seems like this rule should apply, but it depends on whether a home run automatically "awards" home plate to the runner. We would have to have the definition of "awarded" to be absolutely sure. Either way, it was more than a nice gesture because the refs either didn't know this rule or interpreted it differently, which would have cost Tucholsky her home run (most sports leagues refuse to change a call on the field after the fact short of ref corruption.)

Funny the other team lost by one point. They could have won if they didn't help her but I bet they don't regret it. That kind of stuff makes you feel good about yourself, well it's supposed to.

oh wow. the two girls who did that for her showed great sportsmanship. i saw this on tv a few days ago actually. i hope she's doing better. and it really does S**k that your whole softball carrer is over because of this.

i play softball and this type of thing happened to my best friend on my team but the other team talked it over and agreed that we could have a pinch runner
