Britney Spears to Open MTV's Video Music Awards

It's official! Britney Spears will open MTV's video music awards on Sunday. VMA's executive producer says he recruited Spears to make a statement and start the show in a very dramatic way. The singer is scheduled to perform her single "Gimme More" from her upcoming album.

Musicians and models came together for the fourth annual Fashion Rocks concert at Radio City Music Hall. Last night's event coincides with Fashion Week in New York. Aerosmith arrived on the red carpet as did model Tyra Banks. Fergie made an appearance as did Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Richie. Various celebrities donated items to be auctioned off online for charity.

Actress Lindsay Lohan and her estranged father have reunited. The two had a planned meeting at Lohan's treatment center in Utah. The reunion reportedly marked the first time the 21-year-old had seen her father since he was released in March from having served two years in prison for driving while intoxicated. A source close to Lohan says the actress is scheduled to complete her program in Utah in about two weeks.

Actress Sherri Shepard is reportedly joining the chatfest at ABC's the View next week. Co-creator Barbara Walters will make the announcement on Monday's show. This move marks the first time the show has had a full cast since Star Jones Reynolds and Meredith Vieira left last year. Shepard has filled in as a co-host at least a dozen times.

High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens is addressing a nude photo of herself that's hit the Internet. Hudgens says the photo was taken privately and it's unfortunate that this issue has become public. The picture of the 18-year-old surfaced on several websites yesterday. Hudgens is currently dating her High School Musical co-star Zac Efron.
