Awesome story! This is one of my favorite songs because it almost transports you to a different place.

But then again, many Pink Floyd songs do that.

i cant explain it (ive tried to my wife) i was leaving New Orleans on business the weekend of Katrina and it was midnight with the windows down and the calm before the storm and the wind with this song playing over the lake was very sureal...i just cant explain the feeling...i kept replaying the song all the way to Hattisburg, MS.

Indeed- though The Wall was somewhat harrowing, there were other albums showcasing other human emotions. I mean, Piper at the Gates was an example of them playing around with their psychedelic image.

Pink Floyd rules! And apparently, there going to tour again, with the full lineup (Waters, Mason, Wright, Gilmour). Awesome stuff.

When The Wall is the only album u know then its no wonder you're thinking Pink Floyd is depressing. Ever listen to Zabriskie Point, Piper at the gates of dawn, and the other fantastic stuff with syd? There was a time they think to themselfs, why we have to sing about lucky things even showbiz isn't it? U dont even have to watch The Wall. Understand it!

Indeed; A Momentary Lapse of Reason was a terribly underated album, mostly because Roger Waters had left the band after The Final Cut. But Gilmour and Wright did a fantastic job with this song, and others, including "The Dogs of War" and "On The Turning Away".

Leave it to David Gilmore to leave Pink Floyd on a positive note. As much as Roger Waters did on The Wall we needed a upbeat album from Pink Floyd and David Gilmore gave it to us. The cause id more important than one man. I see David Gilmore's name on another good CD. Rush, Snakes and Arrows.
