Nibbling, Not Drinking. Baby 4 is not getting that much milk, as he's only nibbling on the breast. There is some transfer at the end, when you see the jaw move and then the 'pause' as the mouth fills up with milk. Baby 4 may spend a long time at the breast to fill up. There may also be fussing and arching of the back, as baby gets fed up with not much milk. This is the fourth in a sequence of four, showing how the different skill levels in breastfeeding babies can affect milk transfer. The ...

  • Without showing it, ...

Without showing it, how else is a mum to overcome issues? Women today don't growup seeing their mothers and sisters nursing babies. Docs are woefully ignorant regarding lactation. It's through videos like this that many are able to educate ourselves to make nursing work. Saying that this shouldn't be here because of nutballs is like saying there shouldn't be photos of kids online, because a pedophile might see them. The sicko robs the innocence, not the subject. It's high time we take that back!

  • Hungry babies ...

Hungry babies require food when they are hungry, not when culture deems it appropriate. It is a basic human right of a breastfeeding baby, to breastfeed where and when it pleases the mother. The idea that breastfeeding is a private act, contributes to many mothers being afraid to breastfeed at all, and causes ill health and death to some babies, from lack of breastfeeding.

With all the crazy nutballs out there, I don't think its appropriate for breastfeeding videos to be on the web. Breastfeeding is a beautiful but private act between a mother and child. Putting it on the web robs the innocence from the act.

Oh, fantastic! Thanks for posting this. It's so important that women get the chance to see videos like this - in a culture where we simply don't see breastfeeding so often, videos like this are vital to pass on critical breastfeeding knowledge.

  • It is normal for ...

It is normal for breastfeeding babies to be very chunky in the first few months of life. This baby isn't getting enough milk, as it is not extracting the milk very well yet.

It is impossible for a breastfeeding baby to receive too much milk. The milk adjusts to the S**king levels of the baby. You can overfeed human milk from a bottle, just as you can overfeed formula. But from the breast, the baby gets the correct amounts of nutrients as they adjust accordingly.
