Solar and wind would be great ideas. As an aside, Ford Motor Company recently announced they will have production hydrogen powered vehicles in the next 2 -3 years, I can't remember the exact timeframe.

When I was young rode a "drag piped" Harley. Now I ride a nice and quiet Goldwing. Love the peace quiet, hard to find now days.

Solar panels that would charge it. Also a wind alternater. No extra load on the grid. :) Plus a hydrogen run generater would work also. There are old generater engines on youtube that would run a generater to charge it that only use a gallon of fuel in 24hrs.

Regenerative braking can be achieved using the motor itself in most cases, if when you brake, the circuit cuts the power into the motor, and reverses the poles the motor becomes a generator, but this kinda thing does take a heap of mods to the throttle circuit, he could prob do it though, he got this far....

This sounds like a CVT (constant velocity transmission) setup. Great idea!

Does the vehicle use regenerative braking? i.e. charging the battery by momentum turning a massive alternator causing the vehicle to slow down during times of braking?
