Firstly, the car isn't modded, certainly not intake or exhaust. Secondly the rx8 cannot be modded easily, any mods have a neglible effect unless thousands are spent. Thirdly MissJordan, a 2.6 ltr rotary would be very heavy and that would spoil the fine handling balance of the rx8, which is what the rx8 is all about.......... if you want speed buy an american V8 but don't be suprised as soon as you get to the twisty bits the rx8 will fly past and leave you for dead ........

1 first of all just wanna clear some S**t up. anything displacing 1.3 liters that is N/A and can reach 153-155 STOCK is a work of art. and to go any faster you would need almost 300-400hp more if that will even do it. if you don't believe me watch the topgear special on the bugatti. wind becomes a big factor and slows you down. and no there is no govenor unless you got auto, and the rev limiter kicks in at 9500rpm i redline it every chance i get.

2 mazda didnt want a bigger engine cause rotary engines produce almost 2-3 times the fumes as a conventional engine. and some might say why no turbo then. because reliability issues come into play and the price would have been jacked up. Thats why the Z and RX8 are not TT like their older brothers.

3 if you want a bigger engine check out a 20b 3 rotor engine which is only about 2.0 liters and can be pushed well over a 1000hp and if thats not enough get a 4 rotor which led mazda to being the only japenese car company to win le mans, and after they won the engine was banned so if you don't like rotary engines shut the F**k up and by a Z sorry just needed to let that out.

probably going downhill... my friends rx-8 got only 216 petal to the floor for 25 minutes. and it was stuck at 210 until it went a little downhill. This one obviously has some mods

Yeh my RX-8 does about the same, its doing 245km/h at 7000rpm in 6th, problem is the sixth gear to long! But the RX-8 really shows its balls in the 60-200km/h range!
