the time between the sea is pulling back and the wave is arriving is less than 20 minutes this wave is very fast.

o F**k a big wall of water ...they said before it came th water receded like kilometers and kids started picking up th fish..and boom here it comes...

I guess the beach looked wider than it should be in the video, so I thought maybe the water had gone down. But apparently not. That's scary! No warning at all.

Strangely enough the sea didn't appear to pull back at all on Koh Lanta. The full version of this video has us all on the beach in the 3 minutes before the tsunami and you can hear people remarking on how choppy the sea is - usually at this time of year the water is like a lake, nae waves really.

I hear this tsunami hit places as far away as Africa, and they wouldn't have even had the benefit of the sea pulling back as a warning--the first part of the wave to hit them was a peak rather than a trough. Fortunately I think geologists had some time to warn Africa of the impending doom.

It looked like the sea pulled back beforehand. About how long was it between the sea pulling back and the first wave of the tsunami arriving, do you know? After seeing something like this, if there's ever an earthquake and I'm anywhere near the ocean, or if the sea suddenly pulls back, I'm running for the hills. This is insane!

Dude, I filmed this video and I can confirm for you that none of us knew it was coming. We were woken up from our beach hut about 10 mins before this footage was shot, I remember a Thai lady saying there had been an earthquake but nobody knew of any tidal wave until the moment it appeared on this video.

By the sounds of the camera person they knew the tsunami was coming. Did you guys already hear about the tsunami in other areas, or was there a tsunami that hit before?

OMG. Can you just F**king imagine going on vacation to a beautiful island with your kids and family, sun soaking and playing at the beach, when a F**king tsunami comes and washes away your babies??? THAT S**kS SO MUCH :(:(:(

Tears in my eyes.. A women that moved over to my village from there was on holiday there when it happend, she lost her baby and man..
