On February 6, 2008, at the Bellevue Police (and Fire) Training Center (at 1838 116th Ave NE) the King County Sheriff SWAT Team and helicopter, Guardian One, did routine training. With guns in hand and wearing full body-armor, SWAT members repelled from the helicopter with ropes onto a training building which is probably about five stories up. I was about level with the top of the building and about 100 yards away. It was very loud and amazing to see in person.

NOTE: sorry I did not get better shots. I was in the middle of something and did not have time to go down to the training center for a better view (I don't know if they would have let me pass the gate or not). Maybe next time :) SOME PEOPLE HAVE CONTACTED ME THINKING I WAS HIDING BEHIND TREES, but I was not. There just happened to be lots of tree in between the training center and the parking-lot I was filming from. Furthermore, I DID NOT TRESPASS any property to videotape this.

Another NOTE: this might be Guardian Two (as one youtuber brought up in the comments) because Guardian One does not have any hoists on it.

  • Bee, jsk is correct ...

Bee, jsk is correct. They have two helicopters... the smaller jet ranger is Guardian 1 and the Huey (the one in the video) is Guardian 2. Same crew... they just swap out helicopters as the need arises.

  • hahaha, great story ...

hahaha, great story. yah, helicopters are actually great for checking on minor things as well as serious ones. like they check on suspicious vehicles, outdoor party complaints (they scare people away with their loud speaking and spot light), and much more! thanx for your comment! :)

Nice vid. Once I called the police for help and was told all the patrol cars were busy! Dispatcher said may I send you a helicopter? I told them, "Send it!" Five patrol cars piled in shortly thereafter. Poor sap! I did not feel sorry for him.

hahaha, no, it's fine to film. i just had a bad view (i talk about it at the bottom of the description). it's OK to film it because it's in view of the public. in fact, the city of bellevue (where this was held) released info about this before hand so people wouldn't get freaked out. thanx for the comment!
