During all the Hannibal campaign, ROME has never been in danger,even after the Cannae defait. The danger has been exagereted by the roman historians just to make even greater the ROME victory. If you all, study the singles cronics of the Hannibal campaign you can realize that. ROME kept all the time a legion is Spain, you do that if you are in danger? not at all! This same legion stopped the hannibal's brother who was bringing help to Hannibal. Hannibal needed that help,but he didn't get it.
