For hundreds of years, Newfoundland families have long considered not only the codfish but the cod tongues as well, to be among some of the very best food that one can put on the Kitchen table. Mmmmmmm, mmmmmmm, GOOD!

The scenes are an excerpt from the 1986 Cinefort/NFB of Canada co-production, Season on the Water.

It was filmed in Petty Harbour, Nfld.

I remember cutting out Cod Tongues during my summers back in the 60's and 70's up in Grates Cove from the time I was 8 years old until about 12 years old. I finally got back there 5 years ago, ended up buying a little place, but it doesn't seem like they're as popular as they used to be.
