Speed is relative. If you shoot a projectile from a craft flying at x speed, then the speed of the craft is ZERO relative to the projectile. Relative to a distant observer, the speed of projectile = normal speed from a stationary object + speed of craft .

Your idea that 30mm projectile weapons are practical for spacecraft capable of travelling at orbital velocities is simply laughable. You will either need high energy lasers or missiles.

I take it you never took Physics 101. Your assumptions are incorrect. Even if both ships were flying at speed of light and you shot a laser at the first ship from a second ship following the first one, it would overtake and hit the first one.
