u guys are from 2 different branches of JKD. see today JKD has been split up into 2 dif. branches. sounds like mina is more into Dan Inosanto's branch which is the JKD concepts branch and jeetkunejimi is from the original JKD branch which has jerry poteet and taky kimura. look these things up then argue. in a way ur both right. Bruce Lee didnt want his system of martial arts to be split up like this but oh well, it happened anyways.

I am just trying to clarify what JKD is to someone who does not know. I train with Bruce Lee's old friends several times a year and they know more that you.

JKD can be applied to driving, fishing, martial arts and yes urinating if you like...JKD is simply the Tao set to physical motion.
JKD is a method of thought to applly towards physical motion. That is what it is.

Sorry about the idiot thing but I see your writing and it appears as if you have no idea that certain methods of training help teach the body to move over time. You sound as if everything has to be combat related immediately.

We already have these things and that is why I think you have no clue as to what JKD really is.

Not all training directly relates to combat idiot. Sometime you train to gain sensitivity or speed or just awareness.

I have watched many football games and have yet to see someone stop in mid field, get on there back and do bench presses.
I do however see them do bench presses while training. Hmmmmmmm

You still don't get it do you?. JKD is a method and an approach. It is not a style with techniques. Any martial art can be part of your own personal JKD if you want it to. Spitting and pissing is JKD if you train it using JKD concepts.
Too bad you don't have any real education on these matters.

Give me an example of one JKD technique...just one. They don't exist.
JKD can guide your training wether it is in boxing, fencing, judo, tennis, running, hockey, whatever.
JKD guides us.

brings back memories. The footage of the classes at the Inosanto Academy is from the early 90's. I even saw myself in some of the clips!

He still teaches out of LA at the Inasanto Academy.
Erik Paulson teaches out of Fullerton 5 days a week.
